Water Royd House provides high-quality residential, nursing, and dementia care in a warm, "home-from-home" setting. As a Night Senior Care Assistant, you will act as a clinical and supportive anchor, leading a dedicated team of night carers to ensure our residents sleep safely, peacefully, and receive the highest standard of dignified care.

About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you are more than just a carer; you are a team leader, a role model, and a trusted guardian of our residents' physical, psychological, and social needs.

Working through the night shifts, you will coordinate care delivery, oversee safe overnight routines, and act as the senior point of contact for the night team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage, inspire, and coordinate the night care team, ensuring tasks are prioritized effectively and shifts run smoothly.

• Compassionate Personal Care: Deliver tailored personal care—including assistance with washing, personal hygiene, dressing, and evening/early morning meals—treating residents like your own family.

• Nighttime Monitoring: Oversee regular, respectful comfort and safety checks throughout the night to ensure resident peace of mind.

• Care Planning & Records: Assist with updating and managing detailed, person-centred care plans that reflect each resident's unique needs and wishes.

• Effective Communication: Act as a confident link between night and day staff, providing thorough handovers to maintain continuity of care.

What You Will Need to Succeed

We are looking for an organized, compassionate leader who can make confident decisions under pressure and has a genuine passion for social care.

• Qualifications:

  • Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care is required.

  • Must be willing to work towards and complete your Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (fully supported and funded) if you do not already possess it.

• Experience:

  • Proven experience working as a Senior Care Assistant (Essential).

  • Previous experience working within a residential or nursing care home environment (Essential).

  • Practical experience leading, motivating, and coordinating a care team.

• Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • A committed, reliable, and highly organized approach to shift management.
