Position: Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) Supervisor
Location: Blackburn / Darwen
Salary/Rate: £35,000 per annum + up to 10% annual bonus + Company van
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-time, 45 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 08:00 AM – 17:00 PM)

About the Role
We are proud to partner with our client as a supportive staffing agency to recruit an experienced HWRC Supervisor for their Household Waste Recycling Centre in Darwen/Blackburn. This permanent role offers a fantastic salary package including a company van and annual bonus, steady daytime hours, and the opportunity to lead a dedicated team in driving environmental sustainability and top-tier site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision: Supervise daily operations, ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental regulations, instructions, and company policies.
Team Leadership & Support: Act as a role model to maximize recycling rates, improve safety culture, and supplement staffing levels on site when necessary.
Performance & Compliance: Ensure weekly targets are met efficiently within budget, manage operational documents, meet COTC requirements, and assist with reporting (accidents, incidents, and performance data).
Management Cover: Deputize for the HWRC Manager as required, ensuring seamless leadership coverage across all site responsibilities.

What We Are Looking For
Experience: Proven experience supervising and developing engaged teams within a Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) or similar waste management environment.
Qualifications: An appropriate waste management qualification to suit permit requirements (or the ability/willingness to achieve this within 12 months) and a valid driving licence.
Skills & Knowledge: Strong communication skills, a passion for recycling, solid understanding of safety/environmental regulations, and familiarity with KPIs.
