Location: Wisbech (Manufacturing premium chilled ready-to-cook meals for major retailers like Sainsbury's, Aldi, and Co-Op with a team of 525 colleagues)
Pay Rate: £13.19 per hour (Note: Job description references £13.73)
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (Day Shift: 07:00 – 19:00)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated hygiene and operations talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their facility in Wisbech, we are currently seeking a meticulous and reliable Hygiene Operative to ensure all food manufacturing areas, machinery, and equipment meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitation: Carry out daily cleaning across factory areas and schedule deep cleans of large machinery, ensuring sanitation processes are completed in full.
Safety & Compliance: Wear full PPE (including chemical suits, visors, wellington boots, gloves, and safety goggles) while safely managing and storing chemicals.
Documentation & Reporting: Complete accurate paperwork to document cleans, promote a strong health and safety culture, and promptly report any damaged equipment or machinery.
Environment: Work effectively across both chilled and hot manufacturing environments.
What We Are Looking For
Experience & Knowledge: Previous experience in a hygiene-based role is essential. While Health & Safety Level 2, Food Safety Level 2, and COSHH Awareness are desirable (and full training will be provided), a willingness to learn is key.
Core Skills: Ability to follow written instructions, a sharp eye for detail to achieve strict cleanliness standards, and the ability to work independently for periods of time.
