Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with BAE Systems—a global leader in defence, aerospace, and security—to source an aspiring and driven Undergraduate Air Maintenance Engineer for a 12-month industrial placement in Lancashire.
As part of the world-renowned Air Team, you will embed within a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO), helping underwrite the air safety of cutting-edge platforms supported by BAE Systems. This placement offers a unique, hands-on platform to gain deep insight into military aircraft regulation, fleet management, and maintenance engineering within the UK Defence Air Environment.
During your placement, you will experience several Continuing Airworthiness Management disciplines—including Fleet Management, Maintenance Planning and Tasking, Technical Information Management, Airworthiness Records, Reliability & Maintenance Programmes, and Technical Services. You will actively interact with customer locations, aircraft maintenance organizations, and supply chain partners.
Fleet Status Reporting: Collate and present accurate aircraft status information.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor ongoing aircraft operating performance and carry out ad hoc performance studies on aircraft and components.
Maintenance Planning: Plan and promulgate management plans for aircraft and component maintenance.
Continuous Improvement: Review current ways of working and assess opportunities for improvement, particularly concerning emerging and maturing technologies.
Team Collaboration: Take an active part in team discussions from both technical and behavioral perspectives.
Academic Background: Must be on track to obtain a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
Working Arrangement: On-site presence in Warton or Samlesbury 3 days per week under hybrid working guidelines.
Security Clearance: All applicants must achieve, as a minimum, the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Note: Due to security and export control restrictions, candidates must meet national identity, birthplace, and residency criteria (typically requiring continuous UK residency of 5 to 10 years for higher-level national security vetting).
