Salary: £13.30 - £14.30 per hour (depending on experience)

We are partnering with Thatcham Court (part of Bupa)—a purpose-built dementia care home dedicated to compassionate, high-quality residential and nursing care—to find a dedicated Kitchen Assistant for a flexible bank role. In this vital position, you will act as the essential bridge between the main kitchen and our residents, helping to plate meals, prepare food trolleys, and support our catering team during everyday dining and special events.
What You’ll Be Doing
Acting as the crucial link between the main kitchen and our residents to ensure a smooth, enjoyable meal service.
Assisting chefs with plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and ensuring all food preparation areas are kept clean, safe, and tidy.
Monitoring stock rotation and strictly complying with company policies, COSHH, and HACCP guidelines.
Helping to cater for special community events, including summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
What You’re Looking For
A passion for food and a genuine desire to make our residents feel at home through a delightful dining experience.
Previous experience working in a kitchen environment alongside a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
A friendly, communicative nature and an understanding of the importance of maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.
