We are acting on behalf of Mountain Healthcare Ltd—one of the UK's leading providers of forensic custody healthcare in partnership with police forces and criminal justice agencies—to recruit dedicated Registered Nurses (RGN) or Paramedics to join their team in Guildford, Surrey.

No prior forensic or custody experience is necessary, as full accredited training and structured development are provided to help you transition into this specialized, autonomous clinical role where no two shifts are the same.
1. Clinical Assessments & Custody Care
Conduct thorough clinical assessments to determine detainees' fitness for detention, interview, charge, and release, including capacity and mental health evaluations.
Manage medical emergencies, treat injuries, support substance misuse/detox pathways, and provide expert healthcare advice in a fast-paced environment.
Work collaboratively with police, custody teams, NHS services, and partner agencies to ensure safe, effective onward care.
2. Forensic & Evidential Duties
Collect, preserve, and document forensic samples in strict compliance with evidential and legal standards.
Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical and evidential records, including detailed injury documentation.
Attend hospital blood procedures under the Road Traffic Act and prepare professional statements or attend court as an impartial healthcare witness when required.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration: Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current, active NMC registration, OR Paramedic with current HCPC registration.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in an acute or fast-paced setting (such as frontline ambulance, A&E, prison, custody, or urgent care).
Competencies: Strong autonomous decision-making skills, excellent communication, and a calm, professional, and compassionate approach when dealing with vulnerable or distressed individuals.
Requirements: Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points; minimum of 3 years of UK residency prior to application.
Vetting: Must successfully pass an enhanced DBS check and police vetting clearance.
Joining Incentives: Up to £1,500 FTE sign-on bonus (pro-rata, e.g., £750 after probation and £750 after one year) and a £500 recommend-a-friend referral bonus.
Professional Registration: Annual NMC (£120) or HCPC (£98.12) registration fees paid by the company.
