Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with defence and recruitment operations to connect detail-oriented administrators with vital national careers. We are currently recruiting a dedicated AFRS Vetting Administrator to join the team supporting the Armed Forces Recruitment Service (AFRS) in Solihull.
In this dedicated vetting role (focused entirely on clearance activity rather than onboarding), you will manage an end-to-end vetting caseload, ensuring that all security, background, and compliance checks for candidates joining the UK Armed Forces are completed accurately, securely, and within agreed service levels.
As an AFRS Vetting Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
Caseload Management: Administer an allocated caseload from receipt through to vetting outcome, prioritizing activity based on recruitment demand and intake dates.
Screening & Checks: Complete identity verification, Right to Work, criminality checks, employment/activity history, references, and gap checks.
Compliance & Standards: Administer applicable BPSS and UKSV requirements in accordance with MOD, Armed Forces, and contractual guidelines.
Systems Administration: Utilize multiple systems and portals (such as Access Screening, PEGA, and UKSV) to maintain accurate, fully auditable records.
Candidate Support: Provide professional, clear updates to candidates, guiding them through requirements and resolving routine queries to minimize delays.
Escalations & Quality: Identify complex, non-standard, or sensitive cases and escalate them appropriately to the Team Manager while working to high productivity and accuracy targets.
Administrative Experience: Proven background in a high-volume, process-led environment with exceptional attention to detail.
Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing workloads and meet strict turnaround targets.
IT Competence: Confident data entry skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills with a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
Desirable Background: Previous experience in vetting, pre-employment screening, security administration, or regulated processing environments (familiarity with BPSS, UKSV, or Right to Work is a plus).
Please note that this role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance (and potentially higher formal security clearances like CTC or SC, subject to UK residency requirements), alongside the completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
Competitive Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum (Band 7).
Pension & Flexibility: 6% contributory pension scheme and flexible/hybrid working options considered.
Health & Wellbeing: Employee Assistance Programme, Simply Health Cash Plans, virtual GP access, and leisure centre discounts.
Career Growth: A wealth of role-specific training, leadership coaching, formal study support, and active employee inclusion networks.
