We are currently recruiting on behalf of Thatcham Court Care Home—a purpose-built, highly-rated dementia specialist care home dedicated to delivering person-centred care, fostering community spirit, and helping residents live their best lives.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Care Assistant to join the team on a bank contract basis. In this vital leadership role, you will help run a unit, guide and inspire a team of Care Assistants, and assist nurses with clinical duties while ensuring residents receive dignified, high-quality, personalized care.
Key Responsibilities:
Take day-to-day responsibility for running a unit and leading shift handovers.
Support nurses with clinical duties, including observations, issuing medication, reviewing care plans, and accurate digital record-keeping.
Train, supervise, and nurture new and existing Care Assistants so they feel supported and confident.
Build strong, supportive relationships with residents, their families, and external multidisciplinary teams (such as GPs and District Nurses).
Assist residents with personal care while championing their independence, choices, and daily wellbeing.
Completed or actively working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Care (full training and support can be provided).
Previous experience in a senior care role with a solid understanding of its rewards and challenges.
Motivated, positive mindset with exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
