Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit a dedicated and organized Direct Payment Brokerage Officer to join the People Commissioning & Business Support team based at Britannia House.
In this rewarding role, you will assist service users in setting up and managing Direct Payments, helping them source appropriate community support, navigate payroll and administrative services, and resolve any difficulties they may encounter.
Reporting to the Direct Payments team, you will provide vital guidance, training, and operational support. Key responsibilities include:
Service User Guidance: Providing information and support to service users choosing to take all or part of their personal budget as a Direct Payment.
Community Sourcing & Problem Solving: Helping service users source appropriate community support (e.g., employing support staff directly or contracting with providers) and resolving difficulties in managing payments.
Training & Liaison: Delivering Direct Payments training and support to social workers across Adults' and Children's Services and social care providers, while liaising with community payroll and internal administration teams.
Face-to-Face & Duty Support: Conducting regular home visits for face-to-face contact with service users and operating a duty telephone support and advice system.
We are looking for a customer-focused, proactive individual who meets the following essential criteria:
Educational Requirement: Educated to Level 2 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (e.g., NVQ Level 2, GCSE grade A* - C, or Skills for Life Level 2).
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
An empathetic, organized approach to supporting vulnerable adults and children/families.
