About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with The Beardwood Hospital in Blackburn—part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider—to recruit a dedicated Lead Theatre Practitioner specialising in Recovery & Anaesthetics for their dynamic theatre department.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours a week on a flexible shift pattern. In this key leadership role, you will champion top-tier, patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway, supervise multidisciplinary team members, and ensure strict adherence to clinical safety and governance protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perioperative Leadership: Lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway, acting as a specialist or functional lead within the team.

• Patient Safety: Ensure all patient safety checks, including WHO surgical safety processes, are rigorously carried out in compliance with hospital policy.

• Team Supervision: Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion, and accountability.

• Staff Development: Support the development and assessment of team competencies, promoting continuous professional development across the department.

• Patient Advocacy & Safeguarding: Act as an advocate for patients to uphold their rights, safety, and dignity, raising any concerns where care standards or safeguarding protocols are not met.

Candidate Requirements

• Registration: Current NMC or HCPC registered practitioner.

• Experience: Significant professional background working within a clinical theatre environment specifically focused on Recovery & Anaesthetics.

• Leadership Capabilities: Demonstrated clinical leadership experience with a proven ability to act as a role model to peers.

• Core Qualifications: ENB 998 and/or mentorship course, an approved/recognised anaesthetic course, and a Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification (where applicable).

• Competencies: Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, infection control, safeguarding, and clinical governance.
