Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit an experienced and motivated Senior Enforcement Officer to join their high-performing Planning Enforcement Team.
As one of the UK’s most vibrant and diverse districts, Bradford continues to experience significant growth and regeneration. In this rewarding leadership role, you will investigate alleged breaches of planning control, lead on complex and sensitive cases, and mentor junior colleagues to promote consistency across the service.
As Senior Enforcement Officer, you will manage a varied caseload while providing technical guidance and supervision. Key responsibilities include:
Case Investigation & Enforcement: Investigating alleged breaches of planning control, assessing the expediency of enforcement action, and preparing/progressing formal enforcement notices, appeals, and prosecutions.
Team Leadership & Mentoring: Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to Enforcement Officers to help develop skills, share knowledge, and ensure consistent decision-making.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues in Development Management, Legal Services, and other council departments to ensure effective planning enforcement delivery.
Site Visits & Reports: Undertaking site visits across the Bradford District (full driving licence required) and preparing clear, comprehensive reports and evidence.
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable planning professional who brings:
Proven experience in planning enforcement, development management, or a related planning discipline.
A strong understanding of planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
Strong investigative, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Experience mentoring, supporting, or supervising colleagues and sharing professional expertise.
Excellent communication, reporting, and customer service skills.
A current full driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
