As a Senior Care Assistant, you will take day-to-day responsibility for running a unit, providing vital support to the nursing team with clinical duties, and driving a team of Care Assistants to ensure the highest standards of resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
Support nursing staff with clinical duties, including observing residents, administering medication, reviewing digital care plans, and maintaining accurate records.
Lead and manage a team of Care Assistants, taking responsibility for shift handovers.
Help with the training, supervision, and onboarding of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported.
Build strong relationships with residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals such as GPs and District Nurses.
Assist residents with personal care duties and ensure their health, dignity, and comfort are always prioritised.
An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (essential for bringing the necessary expertise and professionalism to the role).
Proven experience in a care home environment with a strong track record of leadership, team management, and clinical support.
Compassionate, empathetic, and organized, with exceptional communication skills.
