At Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we know that finding the right environment is everything. We are delighted to partner with Bradford Children and Families Trust to recruit permanent, passionate Locality Social Workers to join their dedicated teams across the district.
Bradford is a vibrant, culturally rich city with a young, diverse population, presenting a rewarding landscape for relationship-based social work. Following an April 2023 launch, the Trust has seen remarkable momentum—with recent Ofsted reports highlighting progress and improvements that have exceeded expectations ahead of schedule. Backed by a stable, permanent senior leadership team, the Trust is built on a restorative and relational culture. If you are looking for stability, excellent professional support, and the chance to make a tangible difference, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will work directly with children and families within one of our locality teams or the specialist Children with Complex Health & Disabilities Team (CCHDT).
You will focus on helping children achieve permanence—whether that means safely remaining at home, reunifying with parents, living with extended family, or thriving in the care of the Trust. This is a classic, relationship-led frontline role where you will walk alongside families, using their strengths to navigate complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Strength-Based Assessments: Undertake holistic, comprehensive assessments of need, co-producing plans that reflect the strengths, aspirations, and voices of children and their families.
Child Advocacy: Ensure that children and young people are actively listened to and that their views directly shape all decision-making.
Care Planning & Review: Design, implement, and routinely monitor tailored care plans, adjusting interventions to match the evolving needs of the child.
Direct Support: Provide regular emotional and practical support to children to help them overcome trauma, navigate barriers, and build long-term resilience.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Partner with health, education, and voluntary sector colleagues to wrap a complete package of support around the family.
Achieving Permanency: Use systemic, relationship-based practices to secure stable, positive, and timely long-term outcomes for children.
We are looking for resilient, communicative, and empathetic Social Workers who thrive in statutory settings and value collaborative practice.
Qualifications:
DipSW, CQSW, BA/MA in Social Work (or equivalent professional qualification).
Active registration with Social Work England.
A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work (reasonable adjustments will be made for candidates with a disability).
Experience:
Proven experience managing a caseload in a statutory children’s setting.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts, negotiate effectively, and solve problems under pressure.
Skills & Strengths:
A natural talent for building trusting, respectful relationships with children, families, and multi-agency colleagues.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to write high-quality, evidence-based reports.
Passion for child-centered decision-making and achieving outstanding outcomes.
Bradford Children and Families Trust deeply values its workforce, providing an outstanding package designed to safeguard your wellbeing and champion your career:
Financial Incentives: Eligibility for an annual retention payment (paid across 12 convenient monthly instalments).
Generous Annual Leave: 31 days of annual leave, rising to 34 days with service (plus bank holidays).
Pension Scheme: Excellent Local Government Pension.
Work-Life Balance: Supportive carer and parental policies, alongside enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
Health & Discounts: Access to Occupational Health, confidential counselling, supportive staff networks, and Blue Light Card discounts (including cost of living support).
Career Progression: Comprehensive training packages and clear pathways to help you step up into senior and specialist roles.
