What Is Required From You?

• Experience & Background: No experience needed—we provide full training and support! A genuine interest in supporting children with learning disabilities is essential.

• Personal Attributes: Patience, resilience, emotional intelligence, a positive attitude, and a team-player mindset.

• Qualifications: Hold or be committed to completing an NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Residential Childcare.

• Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and participate in a sleep-in rota (averaging 4 sleep-ins per month).

• Driving Licence: Desirable, but not essential.

• Compliance: This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to an enhanced DBS check and comprehensive safer recruitment vetting.

What You Will Be Doing

As part of a team wholeheartedly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, you’ll provide consistent, compassionate support to help children feel safe, valued, and empowered by:

• Building Relationships: Fostering trusting, positive relationships with children and young people.

• Daily Routines: Supporting daily activities—from school runs and mealtimes to play and bedtime.

• Life Skills: Helping children learn essential life skills and build their independence.

• Care Planning: Assisting with care plans, routines, and risk assessments (with full training provided).

• Therapeutic Approach: Handling challenging behaviour calmly and with empathy using a therapeutic approach.

• Activities: Taking part in fun, active days—because no two days are ever the same!
