What You Will Be Doing
As a qualified RMN or RNLD, you will provide high-profile, visible clinical leadership to the hospital-wide nursing team, ensuring patient care aligns with operational policies and governing legislation.
Lead and manage nursing services to ensure the highest possible professional and clinical standards.
Supervise senior nurses, foster multidisciplinary working, and participate in senior nurse on-call arrangements.
Manage resources efficiently within allocated budgets and handle project management initiatives.
Play a direct role in pre-admission assessments, customer/contract liaison, and deputizing for the Unit Manager.
Provide accurate and timely information to the Director of Nurses to support effective decision-making.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability / Mental Health Nurse (RNMH/RNLD) with an active registration.
Post-graduate qualification at degree level relevant to healthcare.
Management qualification (DMS or equivalent preferred).
Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years in senior operational management.
Proven experience in budgetary/financial management and project management.

Thornford Park is a 141-bed independent hospital set within 21 acres of Berkshire countryside. It supports service users requiring medium and low secure forensic mental health services, alongside a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team providing personalized assessments and treatment pathways for individuals with complex mental health needs and personality disorders.
