Shape the future of combat air by driving manufacturing readiness for a sixth-generation aircraft platform! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this exciting Senior Manufacturing Engineer position on behalf of BAE Systems.

Operating within the FCAS Manufacturing Engineering team at Warton, you will assess manufacturing capabilities, coordinate readiness reviews, and ensure that processes meet rigorous engineering standards and programme milestones across the GCAP Programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Capability Assessment: Assess manufacturing capability to ensure processes are developed in line with engineering requirements and support production readiness against key programme milestones.

• Readiness Reviews: Coordinate readiness reviews to establish and de-risk manufacturing capabilities ahead of programme gates, reporting status and recovery actions.

• Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate potential manufacturing risks and constraints during early product development, aligning capability with Manufacturing Readiness Levels.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across disciplines with Airframe, Technology Development, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to align manufacturing capability with programme requirements.

• Strategy Development: Inform the Manufacturing Readiness strategy based on programme requirements and outputs from core platform design working groups.

What We Are Looking For

• Educational Background: Minimum HNC qualification and/or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.

• Industry Knowledge: Solid background in manufacturing engineering, industrialisation, and/or production readiness within complex engineering environments.

• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities, fostering relationships across technical engineering, programme, and operational teams.

• Analytical Ability: Demonstrated capability to objectively evaluate processes, tooling, facilities, and workforce readiness against Manufacturing Readiness Assessment criteria.
