Pay Rate: £13.63 per hour
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time (Full-time only)
Shift Pattern: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday (Tuesday and Wednesday off), 06:00 AM to 3:00 PM
About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their recent combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated operations talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their Bow facility in East London, a team of around 1,100 colleagues produces high-quality sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls, and baguettes for major UK retailers including Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Asda, and Morrisons. We are currently looking for a reliable Work in Progress (WIP) Operative to manage ingredient supplies within our chilled storage areas and ensure production lines run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Line Feeding & Preparation: Supply manufacturing lines with required ingredients in a timely manner, working closely with prep teams, line leaders, and line feeders.
Traceability & Stock Control: Ensure accurate traceability information on all ingredients and mixes, minimize waste, perform stock rotation (FIFO), and monitor use-by dates.
Weighing & Mixing: Prepare ingredients and mixes according to procedures, plans, and issuing sheets, and take part in shift stock-taking processes.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (SHE) practices, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and personal hygiene standards.
What We Are Looking For
Full on-the-job training is provided for all machinery and tasks. The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience: Previous experience in a food production environment or a role involving manual handling is desirable, though not always essential.
Skills: Good numeracy skills and a logical, analytical mindset.
Work Ethic: High attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures and management instructions closely.
