We have an exciting opportunity within our brand-new, not-for-profit Children’s Services Residential Home in York! This service is a need-led children’s learning disability (LD) residential home, and we are looking for an Ofsted Registered Manager to lead and develop the provision from the ground up, setting the stage for a truly impactful service.

Your Role as Registered Manager
As the Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our new children’s residential home, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and other complex needs. You will:
Lead, manage, and support teams of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers across the home.
Act as a corporate parent to the children we care for, helping them thrive in their day-to-day lives.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where both children and staff can flourish.
Establish and embed best practice from the outset, maintaining full compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements (including Ofsted standards).
Successfully lead and navigate Ofsted home inspections.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) (or equivalent).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and relevant children’s services legislation.
Experience planning and implementing care plans in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities who may display complex behaviours.
Proven experience leading Ofsted home inspections.
Desirable:
Experience opening or developing new services is highly advantageous.
