Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit a dedicated and experienced Fleet Enforcement Officer based at the Shearbridge Depot.
The Fleet Management team is corporately and legally responsible for the Council’s Goods Vehicle and Passenger Carrying Vehicle Operator’s Licences (enforced by the DVSA). In this crucial role, you will provide comprehensive and confidential support to the Fleet Compliance Manager and Waste, Fleet & Transport Services Management, ensuring the Council remains fully compliant with all transport regulations and driver safety standards.
As Fleet Enforcement Officer, you will monitor vehicle conditions, conduct audits, and liaise with external agencies such as the DVSA and Police. Key responsibilities include:
Compliance & Auditing: Monitoring and reporting on the condition of the Council’s vehicle and plant fleet to ensure full adherence to Operator's Licence requirements and relevant legislation. Conducting internal audit procedures across all departments.
Stakeholder & Agency Liaison: Acting in an advisory and liaison capacity with senior departmental managers, supervisors, and external bodies including the DVSA, Police, HSE, and insurance companies.
Driver Assessment & Training: Carrying out driving assessments, monitoring driver performance, evaluating training needs, and maintaining driver licence, CPC, and performance databases.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Producing and presenting comprehensive, complex Excel-based management and statistical reports analyzing drivers' hours data and vehicle inspection databases.
Risk Management & Spot Checks: Undertaking spot checks on vehicle conditions and documentation, carrying out risk assessments, and investigating and resolving operational failures.
We are looking for a highly motivated, confident, and professional enforcement or transport specialist who brings:
Licence Requirement: A current driving licence including LGV Class C + E.
In-depth knowledge of European Working Time Directives and Road Transport Regulations.
High competency in producing complex Excel-based statistical reports and analyzing driver hours data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, high-level technical advice to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
A strong commitment to statutory legislation, safety, and regulatory compliance.
