Position: Sauce Production Operative
Location: Wisbech (Home to a team of over 525 colleagues manufacturing premium chilled ready-to-cook meals for major retailers including Sainsbury's, Aldi, and Co-op)
Pay Rate: £14.67 per hour
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off | 07:00 – 19:00 (With flexibility to work 03:00 – 15:00 when required)
About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated food production and culinary talent. Greencore is one of the UK’s leading convenience food creators, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their established Wisbech facility, we are currently seeking a meticulous and motivated Sauce Production Operative / Sauce Cook to prepare and cook sauces and ingredients to exact recipes, specifications, and top-tier quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Batch Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, measure, weigh, and cook sauces accurately in line with recipes, production plans, and customer specifications.
Equipment & Monitoring: Safely operate cooking and mixing equipment, monitor consistency and temperature throughout the cooking process, and support product changeovers and cleaning.
Safety & Compliance: Complete precise temperature and quality checks, follow strict allergen controls, maintain GMP procedures, and complete accurate production paperwork.
Teamwork: Work closely with Production Supervisors and team members to hit daily production targets while upholding high hygiene and safety standards.
What We Are Looking For
Full training will be provided, but we are looking for candidates with:
Background: An interest in food preparation, with previous experience in food manufacturing, catering, cooking, or a fast-paced production environment being highly advantageous.
Core Skills: Confidence in following written instructions and recipes accurately, strong attention to detail when weighing ingredients, and good basic communication skills.
Attributes: Reliability, motivation, a willingness to learn, and comfort with the physical demands of the role (including handling ingredients and standing throughout the shift).
