Working Pattern: Part-time / Flexible shift-based (minimum of one shift per month; operating 24/7 patterns including days [06:45–19:00] and nights [18:45–07:00] with paid breaks)

About the Role
We are acting on behalf of Mountain Healthcare Ltd—one of the UK's leading providers of forensic healthcare working in partnership with NHS England and police forces—to recruit dedicated Registered Nurses and Paramedics as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professionals for custody suites in Barrow and Kendal.

Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Assessment & Custody Care
Conduct thorough clinical and capacity assessments, determining fitness for detention, interviewing, charging, and release.
Manage acute healthcare needs, respond to medical emergencies, and support mental health, substance misuse, and detox requirements.
Safeguard detainee welfare, formulate safety plans, and provide professional advice to custody teams and partner agencies.
2. Forensic Duties & Governance
Collect, handle, and document forensic evidence securely, including injury assessments and evidential sample collection.
Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical and legal records, providing professional statements and court attendance when required.
Attend hospital blood procedures under the Road Traffic Act as needed.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration: Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration, OR Paramedic with current HCPC registration.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience within an acute or urgent care setting (such as front-line ambulance, A&E, prison, custody, or urgent care).
Requirements: Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points; right to work in the UK with a minimum of 3 years' continuous UK residency prior to application.
Vetting: Ability to successfully pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and police vetting clearance.
Desirable Criteria
Willingness to complete externally accredited forensic training within the first year of employment.
