Join the kitchen team at Castleholme Lodge in Huddersfield, where you will craft daily meals, cater for exciting seasonal events, and experience what a balanced, rewarding career in healthcare catering should feel like.
Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, taking full shift responsibility for catering operations.
Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a high standard, taking into account special requests, dietary requirements, and mass service needs.
Research and create new menus ensuring high quality and alignment with healthy eating guidelines, while infusing personal flair into celebrations like World Food Day, Christmas, and Easter.
Maintain strict food safety standards, handling HACCP paperwork (fridge temperatures, cleaning schedules) and adhering strictly to food hygiene regulations and 'Safer Food Better Business' standards.
Must be 18 years or older with GCSE English (or equivalent).
City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking qualification.
Essential Basic Food Hygiene certification (Intermediate Food Hygiene is desirable).
Previous experience in a similar catering environment with working knowledge of menu planning, costing, stock control, and mass service delivery.
Castleholme Lodge in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire (HD2 2AH) is a mixed-gender, 20-bed care home with nursing, providing specialized mental health services for adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
