Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit a competent, dedicated, and flexible HGV & Motor Vehicle/Plant Mechanic (Night Shift) to join the Fleet Workshop team based at Shearbridge Depot.
In this vital technical role, you will ensure the council's fleet of heavy goods vehicles, machines, and plant equipment are maintained and repaired to the highest quality standards in an efficient, safe, and cost-effective manner.
Working during the night shift, you will play a crucial part in minimizing vehicle downtime and ensuring fleet readiness. Key responsibilities include:
Maintenance & Repair: Carrying out routine servicing, fault diagnosis, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of HGV and plant vehicles.
Roadside & Site Repairs: Undertaking site and roadside repairs within the Bradford Metropolitan District Council (BMDC) area in all weather conditions when required.
Safety & Quality Standards: Actively contributing to a healthy and safe working environment while meeting strict service deadlines and quality standards.
Customer Care: Exhibiting courtesy, professionalism, and well-developed customer service skills at all times.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and reliable mechanic who meets the following criteria:
Qualifications: Apprentice-trained motor vehicle mechanic to City & Guilds 380/383 level 2, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent training.
Driving Licence: Hold a current driving licence category of LGV Class C or C & E (or be willing to work towards it).
Literate and numerate to a level that enables you to complete technical job profiles and documentation.
Physically fit and capable of handling demanding tasks (walking, kneeling, bending, lifting, carrying, etc.).
Adaptable, flexible, and capable of reacting effectively to fast-changing circumstances.
