Partnering with Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are recruiting for a permanent Second Chef at Barchester’s Rose Lodge Care Home. Enjoy hotel- and restaurant-standard culinary work without the grueling split shifts and long work weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, engaging directly with residents to tailor meals around their preferences.

What You Need to Have
Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent certification.
Experience: Background in working with fresh, seasonal food.
Knowledge: Good understanding of nutrition and HACCP guidelines.
Interpersonal Skills: A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing and confidence engaging with residents to shape menus.
What You Will Need to Do
Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
Assist the Head Chef in menu development and work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes.
Create a warm, efficient, and fun dining environment.
Work within budget, complete regular audits, and manage stock control.
