About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Barchester Healthcare to recruit a talented and passionate Second Chef for Tixover House Care Home.
Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food while enjoying a better work-life balance without the punishing split shifts and long weeks of standard hospitality roles? As Second Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, working directly with residents to tailor meals to their preferences. You will play a key role in delivering hotel and restaurant standards of hospitality in a supportive, award-winning care environment where quality matters.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the kitchen effectively in the Head Chef’s absence.
Assist the Head Chef with menu development and tailoring dishes around resident feedback.
Work with fresh, seasonal produce to cook wholesome dishes of the highest standard.
Oversee stock control, budget management, and regular kitchen audits.
Create a warm, efficient, and fun culinary environment.
About You
Hold City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent culinary qualifications.
Experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a good understanding of nutrition.
Solid understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations.
A personable, warm approach with confidence engaging directly with residents.
Passionate about delivering exceptional quality of care and hospitality.
