Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust to recruit a dedicated and skilled Community Paediatrician (Consultant) based at Airedale General Hospital in Steeton.
With Airedale embarking on a once-in-a-career journey to plan and build a brand-new hospital on the Steeton site by 2033, alongside major advancements in digital care and electronic patient records, this is an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a transformative healthcare future.
Working alongside existing acute and community paediatricians, you will provide an integrated paediatric service across the wide geographical area covered by the Trust. Key responsibilities include:
Clinical Assessments: Providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and management for children with developmental delays, disabilities, behavioral concerns, and neurodevelopmental disorders (under 7 years old).
Statutory & Safeguarding Work: Delivering medical advice for the Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plan process, conducting Initial Health Assessments (IHAs) for children looked after, and handling safeguarding medicals.
Multi-Agency & Outreach Clinics: Delivering clinics from Airedale Hospital and outreach sites, including local Special Schools, working closely with multi-agency teams.
Service Development & Teaching: Contributing to the development of community paediatric standards, protocols, clinical audits, and the training of junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate medical professional who meets the following essential criteria:
Registration & Qualifications: Full GMC Registration, MB BCh (or equivalent), MRCPCH (or equivalent higher qualification), and on the GMC's Specialist Register (or within 3 months of obtaining CCST at interview date). Level 3 competencies in Community Child Health and Child Protection Training.
Experience: Relevant higher specialist training in paediatrics with at least one year in a community paediatric post, alongside experience assessing children in safeguarding.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills with a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
