About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Greencore (following their combination with Bakkavor) to find dedicated operations talent. Greencore is a leading creator of convenience food, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their Spalding facility—where a team of around 540 colleagues produces coleslaw, potato salad, pasta salads, grains, and salad bar bulk products for top retailers like Morrisons, Co-op, Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, and Nando’s—we are currently seeking a reliable Hygiene Operative to join their daytime Blue Shift team. The site also features a convenient on-site hot-food restaurant!
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitation: Carry out daily cleaning and deep cleaning of food manufacturing areas, machinery, and equipment to maintain strict hygiene standards.
PPE & Environment: Work safely across both chilled and hot environments while wearing full protective equipment (chemical suit, visor, wellingtons, gloves, and safety goggles).
Chemical Safety: Safely use and store cleaning chemicals in line with company procedures, reporting any damaged equipment or machinery immediately.
Documentation & Safety Culture: Complete cleaning paperwork accurately and promote a strong health, safety, and hygiene culture across the workplace.
What We Are Looking For
Full training and education will be provided; previous experience is an advantage but not essential. We are looking for:
A basic understanding of both spoken and written English.
Any background knowledge of COSHH and HACCP is highly advantageous, though not a necessity.
A hardworking, reliable attitude and a commitment to safe working practices.
