As a Functional Assessor within our Health Assessment Advisory Service team in Weston Super-Mare, you will carry out meaningful work on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Through comprehensive, fair evaluations, you will help determine how a person's health condition affects their daily life, ensuring they receive the correct support and guidance.
This role offers Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Occupational Therapists, and Pharmacists a unique opportunity to apply their clinical expertise in a supportive, office-based environment with excellent work-life balance.
Customer Consultations: Engage with customers via phone, face-to-face, or online assessments with care, empathy, and respect.
Information Gathering: Conduct functional health assessments and gather accurate, detailed clinical information.
Professional Collaboration: Consult with treating healthcare professionals where appropriate to build a complete clinical picture.
Report Writing: Produce fair, high-quality, and concise reports for the DWP using exceptional observation and note-taking skills.
We are looking for registered clinicians who possess strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and a passion for supporting others.
Professional Experience: A minimum of one year of post-registration experience as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic, or Pharmacist.
Regulatory Registration: Full registration with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or equivalent) with an active PIN and no restrictions.
Core Skills: Excellent listening, communication, and report-writing skills, paired with good IT proficiency to work efficiently under time targets.
Vetting Readiness: Successful completion of pre-employment security screening, including an Enhanced DBS check.
