About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing is excited to represent Lift Maltings in hiring a confident, adaptable, and engaging Cover Supervisor.
In this role, you will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality education during planned and unplanned teacher absences. You will step in to supervise whole classes across a variety of subjects, delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, guiding students through tasks, and creating a calm, structured learning environment. Key Responsibilities
Classroom Supervision: Lead classes in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering prepared lesson activities across various subject areas and year groups.
Behavior & Environment: Maintain a calm, positive, and focused environment by consistently applying the academy’s behavior policy.
Student Support & SEND: Guide students through set tasks, ensuring individual needs (including SEND requirements) are supported effectively.
Administration & Reporting: Accurately complete class registers, collect completed work, and provide clear feedback to class teachers and pastoral teams regarding student progress or behavior concerns.
Wider Supervision: Support broader academy operations, including duties during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and other extra-curricular activities when needed.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Attributes:
GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent.
A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
Proven experience working with young people and the confidence to manage whole-class settings.
Strong classroom management strategies, patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
High level of adaptability to handle changing daily priorities across different subjects.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience working within a secondary school setting.
An undergraduate degree or PGCE.
Familiarity with Google Workspace and Arbor MIS software.
