About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Branston to recruit a proactive and results-driven Despatch Team Leader for their busy logistics operation in Lincoln.
In this key supervisory role, you will take charge of daily B Shift despatch operations, ensuring customer orders are picked accurately and dispatched on time, in full. Working closely across departments, you will lead by example, champion continuous improvement, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the day-to-day performance of the despatch team against core departmental KPIs.
Order Fulfilment: Guarantee that all customer orders are dispatched accurately, on time, and to strict quality standards.
Stock Rotation & Control: Maintain rigorous stock rotation procedures to minimize errors, waste, and stock splits, actively investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Equipment Safety: Oversee pre-use inspections on trailers and Material Handling Equipment (MHE), reporting any defects immediately.
Operational Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and escalate potential delays, shortages, or issues, finding practical root-cause solutions.
Administration & Handovers: Complete accurate paperwork, ensure correct system usage, and deliver seamless shift handovers.
Hands-On Support: Provide hands-on operational support and cover overtime requirements to manage holidays and sickness when needed.
Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to increase overall despatch efficiency and foster cross-departmental collaboration.
Compliance: Ensure absolute adherence to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience: Proven supervisory or leadership background within a despatch, warehouse, or logistics environment, ideally within Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing.
Licence: Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
Communication & Admin: Strong written and spoken English, exceptional organizational skills, and good Microsoft Office proficiency (including email and database systems).
Analytical Skills: Excellent numeracy, attention to detail, and a data-driven approach to solving problems.
