Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with elite defence providers to connect skilled technical professionals with high-impact careers. We are currently recruiting a dedicated Aircraft Paint Sprayer to join our Defence team at RAF Coningsby.
In this vital role, you will perform expert surface preparation and paint application on Ministry of Defence aircraft, components, and ground assets. Your craftsmanship ensures that critical defence assets remain protected, compliant, and fully operational to support national security.
What You’ll Do
As an Aircraft Paint Sprayer, your responsibilities will include:
Surface Finishing: Perform specialist finishing activities in strict accordance with quality procedures and aviation standards.
Paint Removal: Carry out manual, chemical, and media paint removal processes on aircraft and ground equipment.
Application: Apply high-quality paint finishes using modern application equipment and various approved paint schemes.
Pre-Treatment: Handle masking, cleaning, pre-treatment, and abrasive blasting tasks.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to health, safety, environmental, and COSHH regulations, while identifying and reporting defects or corrosion promptly.
Work Schedule
Hours: 39 hours per week, permanent full-time.
Shift Pattern: Two weeks on day shift (07:00 – 15:45), followed by two weeks on night shift (15:45 – 02:45). Further details will be discussed at interview.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Background as an RAF Painter and Finisher tradesperson, or a time-served civilian equivalent within an aerospace or automotive body shop environment.
Licence: Hold a valid full UK driving licence.
Skills: Excellent attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to follow intricate technical procedures consistently.
Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering (Surface Finish pathway) or an equivalent qualification.
Vetting and Checks
Due to the secure nature of this defence environment, candidates must obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and potentially further formal Security Clearance (SC/CTC), subject to UK residency requirements. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed to ensure proper workplace support.
