About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Team Leader to head up our client's night shift QA team. In this role, you will ensure products consistently meet customer specifications, rigorous food safety standards, and legal requirements.
Operating in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, you will adapt dynamically to a varied workload, motivating your team to champion a strong food safety and quality culture.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the Quality Assurance team, fostering an active culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
Production Collaboration: Work closely with the Production team to balance efficient throughput with strict adherence to customer product specifications.
Issue Resolution: Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances by conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventative actions.
Audits & Compliance: Support Technical management in preparing for internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring the site remains audit-ready.
QA Operations: Oversee core quality processes, including intake inspections, washline checks, factory inspections, and ERP quality checks.
Shelf Life & KPIs: Monitor product shelf life, proactively flag quality concerns, and contribute to site quality KPI reporting.
GMP Standards: Manage the site's Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) auditing program and take an active role on the internal audit team.
Safety & Culture: Ensure Health & Safety, hygiene, and food safety standards are strictly followed across the site at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience leading a Quality team within a fresh produce or food manufacturing environment.
Recognized qualifications in Food Safety, HACCP, and Internal Auditing.
Proven track record of preparing for and supporting internal, customer, and external audits.
Strong leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with practical experience in root cause analysis.
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
