Senior Theatre Practitioner - Orthopaedics
Location: King Edward VII's Hospital, 5-10 Beaumont Street, Marylebone, London, W1G 6AA
Salary: From £48,500 per annum + Fantastic Benefits
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday across various shift patterns)

We are partnering with King Edward VII's Hospital (part of Bupa)—a renowned 56-bed private hospital in Marylebone with four operating theatres—to find a dedicated Senior Theatre Practitioner for Orthopaedics. In this vital role, you will provide expert clinical and technical assistance across major orthopaedic surgeries (such as hips, knees, and arthroplasty), helping to maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a key member of the operating theatre team during elective and day-case orthopaedic procedures.
Assisting in the positioning and preparation of patients, ensuring accurate specimen labeling, and maintaining safe drug handling in line with hospital policy.
Controlling cross-infection by strictly observing departmental policies, asepsis, decontamination, and sterilization protocols.
Taking charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner and participating in the induction, orientation, and mentorship of new staff.
Working flexibly across theatre suites, ensuring equipment checks are completed, data is accurately recorded, and team objectives are met.
Valid 1st Level Adult and/or Children's RN registration, ODP Level 3 NVQ, ODA 752, or a Diploma/Degree in Health Care Studies.
A minimum of 5 years of hospital scrub experience as an absolute essential.
Proven, hands-on experience in major orthopaedics, specifically hips, knees, and arthroplasty.
Evidence of ongoing professional and personal development, alongside exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
