8a Neighbourhood Service manager - Guildford NHS AfC: Band 8a

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting an experienced Band 8a Neighbourhood Service Manager. Based at the Redwood Centre under Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, this permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offers a key senior operational leadership role within adult mental health services in Guildford, UK.

In this strategic and operational leadership position, you will oversee the management, performance, and clinical standards of the Guildford Adult Community Mental Health multidisciplinary team. Working closely with the General Manager, primary care, social care, and voluntary sector partners, you will drive the integrated neighbourhood care model, manage clinical resources, lead quality improvement initiatives, and champion recovery-focused, person-centred care.

Role Description

As a Band 8a Neighbourhood Service Manager, you will provide operational leadership to adult community mental health services, manage multidisciplinary and VCSE staff, ensure CQC and Trust policy compliance, and lead integrated service improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations and performance management of the multidisciplinary adult community mental health team, ensuring high-quality, safe, and CQC-compliant service delivery.

• Supervise and mentor senior staff, coordinate team resources, establish clinical supervision structures, and manage VCSE staff in collaboration with voluntary sector leads.

• Contribute to strategic planning, quality assurance, and cross-boundary service alignment while embedding co-design initiatives with service users and carers.

Requirements

• Professional qualification at Diploma or Degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g., RMN, HCPC, Social Work England) with active professional registration (NMC, HCPC, or SWE).

• Leadership/management qualification or equivalent high-level training and experience.

• Significant post-qualification management experience in health or social care, alongside extensive clinical experience within adult mental health services.
