We are proud to partner with BAE Systems to source an experienced Engineer – Systems Engineering (Requirements) to join the Capability, Capacity and Resilience Programme (BCCRP) team in Barrow-in-Furness.
About the Role
In this vital role, you will apply your expertise to support the requirements lead and engineering manager in the Barrow office through the provision of robust processes, alongside the development and acceptance of engineering requirements. You will work across diverse integrated product teams (IPTs) to ensure requirements are baselined, managed, and verified effectively in support of major infrastructure, digital, and supply chain investments.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide domain knowledge and subject matter expertise in the development and management of engineering requirements.
Undertake requirements activities from initial planning through to delivery, issue tracking, and recommendation implementation.
Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, accurately captured within databases, and endorsed by appropriate authorities.
Work collaboratively across engineering teams to drive stakeholder engagement and agreement on baselined requirements.
Provide technical guidance to peers and support the engineering management team in controlling specialist activities.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Skills & Qualifications):
Requirements Management: Practical experience developing, configuring, maintaining, and baselining programme requirements using a database.
Change & Configuration Management: Proven ability to apply effective change and configuration management systems, processes, and controls.
Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with IPTs and integration teams to ensure solution compliance.
Educational Background: BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a relevant STEM discipline (or actively working toward it).
Security Note: Due to defense and export control restrictions, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may apply where required.
