We are acting on behalf of Cera Care Ltd—an innovative, technology-driven care provider on a mission to empower people to live their best lives at home—to recruit an experienced and dynamic Clinical Lead Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join their expanding clinical team.
In this senior clinical role, you will provide specialist clinical leadership and oversight for service users with complex mental health and psychological needs across community and specialised living settings. Working closely with the Head of Clinical Services, you will hold clinical accountability for a complex caseload, deliver evidence-based recovery-focused care, and train, mentor, and supervise care staff and nurses in mental health principles and crisis intervention.
1. Clinical Leadership & Caseload Management
Provide specialist clinical leadership, conducting regular mental health and risk assessments, psychological reviews, and face-to-face home visits across Manchester and Cheshire.
Assess and manage complex clinical risks (including self-harm, suicide, substance misuse, safeguarding, self-neglect, and mental capacity) and develop holistic care and crisis plans.
Respond proactively to changes in mental state, providing expert advice during periods of crisis and escalating clinical concerns in line with company policy.
2. Staff Development, Training & Multidisciplinary Working
Deliver clinical supervision and training to care staff and nurses on de-escalation, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and complex mental illness presentations.
Build strong, collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) including GPs, psychiatrists, social workers, and local mental health services.
Participate in a national out-of-hours/on-call advice rota and contribute to clinical governance, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and business development for complex care pathways.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current, active NMC registration and a minimum of a Diploma in Nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience working within mental health settings (e.g., Crisis Teams, Inpatient Units, Community Mental Health Teams, or Complex Needs services).
Competencies: Proven management and leadership experience; advanced therapeutic and communication skills; ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize mental health risks autonomously.
Requirements: Must be a car driver with own transport and a valid UK driving licence; flexible approach to working hours, including participation in the on-call rota.
Vetting: Must successfully pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and hold current UK professional registration.
