Location: Sky Vale School & 1 ACE Provision, Redhill, Bristol (covering Bristol and surrounding outreach areas)
Salary: £25,313 - £27,616 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM – 4:30 PM; part-time or compressed hours options also open for discussion!)
Are you dedicated, resilient, and passionate about making a transformative difference in vulnerable young lives? We are seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at Sky Vale School in Bristol.
In this varied and exciting role, you will support teachers both within our primary site and out in the community for children who cannot attend traditional school settings, as well as supporting our local 1 ACE (Another Chance Education) alternative provision. Operating within a trauma-informed, therapeutic framework, you will help deliver a flexible, creative curriculum that blends academic, vocational, SEND, and therapeutic approaches to ignite curiosity and build confidence.
Support teachers by assisting in classrooms and delivering outreach educational sessions for children across Bristol.
Work within a nurturing, trauma-informed, therapeutic practice model to support emotional wellbeing alongside academic growth.
Provide safe, supportive learning environments tailored to each young person's individual needs.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to turning children's lives around and helping them shape their own learning experiences.
Maintain clear communication, active listening, and strong relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
Strong written communication, IT, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect confidently with children and adults alike.
Experience working within a specialist or alternative education provision—or simply a deep passion for helping young people thrive.
Essential requirements: A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, and the Right to Work in the UK.
Resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to providing stability for children who have experienced significant instability.
