About the Role

As a Bank Chef at Adlington Manor Care Home, you will provide vital cover for planned or unplanned absences, delivering hotel and restaurant-standard dining without the usual hospitality burnout. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, working closely with residents to tailor dishes around their preferences and bring person-centred hospitality to life.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Excellence: Prepare fresh, seasonal produce to deliver wholesome, high-quality dishes meeting the highest standards.
Kitchen Management: Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, assisting in leading and motivating the team, managing stock control, completing regular audits, and working within budget.
Resident Engagement: Tailor menus around residents' needs, fostering a warm, efficient, and fun dining environment.
Flexibility: Work casual bank daytime shifts on an as-needed basis to cover annual leave, sickness, and rota gaps.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Hold a City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ, or equivalent culinary qualification.
Experience: Experience working with fresh, seasonal food, understanding nutrition and HACCP guidelines, and helping lead/inspire a team.
Personality: A personable, warm, and passionate approach with a genuine dedication to the health and wellbeing of residents.
