We are currently recruiting on behalf of Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd—the UK’s leading provider of community equipment services to the NHS and local authorities—as they look for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their growing clinical team at North Yorkshire Connect.
About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal clinical role within our Community Equipment Services (CES). You will provide expert advice and specialist clinical reasoning to prescribers, commissioners, operational staff, and the community.
Working collaboratively across health and social care sectors, you will help develop and deliver innovative solutions, ensure best practice and strong clinical governance, and maximize the recycling and safe procurement of special equipment. You will also enjoy strong peer support, CPD, and supervision structures under the management of the Head of Clinical Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, specialist support and advice to maximize the recycling of special equipment, including review and oversight of special orders.
Offer expert advice and clinical reasoning on the supply, suitability, and procurement of equipment.
Collaborate with health and social care professionals and CES commissioners to promote best practice and safe working procedures.
Support and deliver training and demonstration sessions according to contract requirements.
Work jointly with CES managers to ensure accurate catalogue systems, high utilization, and best value for money.
About You
You are a dedicated, values-driven clinician who aligns with Medequip's core principles of safety, empathy, respect, teamwork, and excellence.
Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy.
Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Experience: Significant post-qualification experience at a senior level, with strong background knowledge of community equipment services (particularly "specials").
Skills: Solid IT proficiency using Microsoft Office packages and in-house systems.
Right to Work: Candidates must possess the full, satisfactory right to work in the UK (this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship).
