About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is excited to partner with Branston to recruit a dedicated and results-driven Production Section Manager for their A Shift operations in Lincoln.
In this vital leadership role, you will be fully accountable for managing shift operations, ensuring that production lines run safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with top-tier quality standards. Working closely with QA, HR, Engineering, and Senior Production Managers, you will optimize line performance, coordinate labour, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Shift Operations & Production Management:
Oversee pre-shift checks, allocate team members according to production plans, and manage labour replacements to meet dynamic demands.
Monitor attendance, manage sickness trends, conduct Return-to-Work (RTW) interviews, and coordinate holiday planning.
Ensure strict compliance with PPE and site safety guidelines, maintaining smooth workflows with material availability (trays, pallets, boxes) alongside PPT drivers.
Team Leadership & Development:
Mentor new starters, manage probation periods, and conduct 1:1 performance reviews and development pathways.
Ensure staffing levels are optimized and that all team members are fully trained and compliant with technical and safety standards.
Handle shop floor investigations, counseling meetings, and performance feedback sessions.
Quality, Safety & Process Ownership:
Partner with QA teams to optimize quality metrics, inspect packs and trays visually, and adjust line manning as required.
Monitor SIC, manage operational escalations, and collaborate with engineering on performance enhancements.
Embed GMP compliance and drive a robust food safety culture across the entire shift.
Performance & Continuous Improvement:
Take total ownership of shift productivity, quality, and safety targets using performance and HR data.
Promote Branston’s core values in all daily interactions and operations.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven leadership and people management background within a production or manufacturing environment.
Strong digital proficiency, including solid working skills in Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and develop high-performing teams.
