Location: SUEZ Energy From Waste Plant, Haverton Hill Road, Billingham, Tees Valley, TS23 1PY
Salary: £46,566.47 per annum + 10% annual bonus
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-time, 37.5 hours per week: Mon–Thu 07:30–16:00, Fri 07:30–13:00)

About the Role
We are proud to partner with our client as a supportive staffing agency to recruit an experienced Maintenance Planner for their Billingham Energy from Waste facility in Tees Valley. If you have a strong engineering background and enjoy coordinating complex multi-disciplinary activities—specifically managing the site's three annual planned plant shutdowns alongside day-to-day maintenance planning—this is an outstanding career opportunity to help shape a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
Outage & Shutdown Management: Take complete ownership of planning, coordinating, and successfully delivering the site's three annual planned outages, ensuring they are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed shutdown and maintenance plans using Microsoft Project and CMMS, optimising resource allocation and maximum plant availability.
Work Packs & Procurement: Produce comprehensive work packs (including job plans, permits, risk assessments, resource needs, and spares) while coordinating engineering, maintenance, and contractor teams.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor outage performance, manage emerging work, and lead post-shutdown reviews to capture lessons learned and drive ongoing operational excellence.

What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: A recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (minimum ONC or equivalent), plus a recognised health and safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH.
Experience: Proven maintenance planning experience within Energy from Waste, power generation, process manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments, including shutdown/turnaround coordination.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in CMMS and project planning software like Microsoft Project, alongside strong contractor management and procurement experience.
