About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced and creative Chef on a permanent full-time basis on behalf of Ty Grosvenor in Wrexham, an established mental health and personality disorder service supporting men to build independent community living skills.
In this exciting culinary leadership role, you will manage an established kitchen team, oversee the preparation of large-scale meals for staff and service users, and ensure everything runs to hotel and restaurant standards. Enjoy a balanced schedule featuring a five-day work week, no evening shifts, and home-in-time-for-dinner convenience, alongside weekend working on a rota basis. You'll also take the lead on catering for special seasonal events like Christmas, Easter, and world food days!
What You Will Need
Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent English, Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC), City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking, and Basic Food Hygiene certificates (Intermediate Food Hygiene is desirable).
Experience: Previous professional experience in a similar kitchen environment, large-scale mass catering, menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget management.
Skills: Strong management and supervisory abilities, excellent team coordination, and the ability to maintain high compliance with nutritional, dietary, and safety standards.
Proximity & Attitude: A collaborative, creative approach, and ideally living within a manageable commute of Wrexham (LL11 1BU).
