About the Role Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with AGH Solutions Ltd to source an Estates Maintenance Worker Specialist (Electrical) for Airedale General Hospital. Operating with the values and ethics of the NHS, AGH Solutions provides vital facilities management and estate services across West Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales. In this advanced role, you will undertake multi-skilled, highly complex maintenance tasks, supervise a team of Estates Assistants, and train to act as the organization’s designated "competent person" across critical technical areas.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out detailed fault diagnosis, repairs, servicing, and condition surveys of complex building, electrical, mechanical, and safety systems.
Supervise and coordinate a team of Estates Assistants to ensure repairs and planned maintenance tasks meet KPIs and high quality standards.
Deliver technical training to maintenance staff and contractors, communicating strict health and safety procedures.
Complete specialist training to act as the organization's Competent Person for Healthcare Low Voltage, HVAC, Medical Gases, and/or Mechanical Services.
Participate in a 24/7 shift pattern to respond to out-of-hours emergency breakdowns affecting patient-critical services.
Person Specification & Requirements
Education & Qualifications: Good secondary education (GCSE Maths, English, and Craft Studies); completed a recognized apprenticeship/training program (minimum 3 years) in an engineering/building services environment; formal qualification in building services or electrical/mechanical engineering to HNC/HND (NVQ Level 4) or equivalent level.
Experience: Extensive post-qualification maintenance experience involving building services and electrical/mechanical plant.
Core Knowledge: Strong understanding of complex electrical/mechanical plant, fault-finding techniques, safe systems of work, risk assessments, and current Health & Safety legislation.
Visa/Right to Work: Applicants must already hold a valid visa permitting employment in the UK (this role is not currently eligible for Home Office sponsorship).
