About the Role
We are acting on behalf of NUPAS Ltd to recruit qualified Registered Nurses or Midwives with certified experience in 1st and 2nd trimester ultrasound scanning across the Midlands area.
In this vital role, you will deliver safe, compassionate, and effective care to patients accessing consultations for unplanned pregnancies, medical and surgical abortions, contraception, and sexual health services. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to upholding patient-centred care and reproductive choice.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Care: Provide safe and effective care from admission to discharge across remote services, early medical abortion (EMA) clinics, ultrasound scanning suites, and surgical units.
Ultrasound Scanning: Perform competent 1st and 2nd trimester ultrasound scans in alignment with clinical guidelines and training.
Consultations & Support: Conduct patient assessments, support informed choice regarding treatment and contraceptive options, gain informed consent, and handle point-of-care testing.
Medications & Safety: Ensure safe medication administration, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and strictly adhere to the Abortion Act 1967, CQC regulations, and NUPAS clinical governance frameworks.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Engage with patient feedback, participate in clinical supervision, and support regional service delivery while maintaining patient confidentiality and data protection under GDPR.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Professional Registration: Current UK registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse (Sub-part 1) or Registered Midwife.
Specialist Skill: Qualified and experienced in 1st and 2nd trimester ultrasound scanning.

Competencies: Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to manage a flexible regional workload, and a robust understanding of clinical safety and compliance.
Desirable Criteria
Contraceptive qualification or experience fitting subdermal implants (Letter of Competence required).
Professional Nurse or Midwifery Advocate qualification.
Independent Non-Medical / Supplementary Prescribing qualification.
