About the Role
In this vital role, you will develop and optimize manufacturing processes in line with engineering plans and budgets, ensuring solutions are robust, cost-effective, and fully aligned with customer expectations. Working closely with the Portfolio Manager and Engineering Manager, you will apply industry-standard controls—such as Lean principles, Process Control Plans, and PFMEA—to maintain process stability while supporting advanced automated systems across specialized hazardous environments.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes that are robust, cost-effective, timely, and customer-focused.
Ensure strict process compliance through Lean principles, control plans, PFMEAs, automation, and visual management.
Specify, qualify, and install new equipment while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and seamless supplier coordination.
Lead process development activities, generating critical data to support manufacturing technologies, materials, and equipment.
Manage process documentation, capability studies, KPIs, and Safe Systems of Work through PLM systems.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Skills & Qualifications):
Educational Background: Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
Technical & Operational Acumen: Strong background in manufacturing environments, demonstrating individual initiative and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Workload Management: Proven capability to prioritize a constantly varying workload while maintaining high quality standards and meeting tight deadlines.
Specialized Experience: Prior experience working with materials processing in hazardous environments is highly advantageous.
Security Note: Due to defense and export control restrictions, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may apply where required.
