About the Role
We are recruiting a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker / Gardener on a permanent full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) on behalf of Rushden Park in Rushden, a modern and welcoming nursing home.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of the service, including buildings, equipment, grounds, and spacious gardens. You will ensure a safe, comfortable, and attractive environment where residents, visitors, and colleagues feel welcome and supported.
What You Will Need
Essential Experience: Previous relevant maintenance experience and practical skills in general maintenance and/or gardening.
Trade Qualifications: A recognised trade qualification (e.g., City & Guilds in plumbing, joinery, electrical, or decorating) is desirable.
Organisation & Independence: The ability to work independently, manage maintenance schedules, and coordinate effectively with management and contractors.
Proximity & Attitude: A flexible approach to work, sensitivity to the needs of older people, and ideally living within 15 miles of Rushden (NN10 6XZ) for a manageable commute.
