Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit an ambitious and positive Adults Commissioning Officer within the People Commissioning Service. This full-time temporary role covers key areas including Learning Disability, Mental Health, Early Help and Prevention, and Homelessness.
At the heart of the People Commissioning Service, you will build meaningful relationships and provide vital all-ages commissioning and contract management functions across Adult Social Care, Children's Services, and Public Health. Bradford Council is deeply committed to investing in staff, co-producing services with those who use them, and continuously improving services for the community.
As an Adults Commissioning Officer, you will support innovative, person-centred commissioning projects produced in partnership with service users, carers, health colleagues, the independent sector, and the voluntary and community sector (VCS). Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Delivery: Supporting the delivery of commissioning and policy plans to implement strategic priorities within budget.
Research & Evaluation: Evaluating changing service patterns, researching requirements for service changes, and informing future service developments through intelligence and data.
Joint & Whole Systems Commissioning: Collaborating with health colleagues, other Council Directorates, and external partners to establish a "whole systems" approach and apply Health Act flexibilities where appropriate.
Service Monitoring & Value for Money: Monitoring and evaluating services and performance against specific outcomes to achieve high standards and best value for money.
Contracts & Co-production: Assisting in the development of service level agreements, specifications, and effective arrangements for service user, carer, and voluntary sector consultation.
Governance & Legislation: Keeping abreast of policies, procedures, and government guidance to ensure national standards are implemented across the department.

Proven experience or capability in commissioning, project management, or contract management within a public sector or related environment.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
A passion for co-producing services and improving outcomes for vulnerable communities.
Collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders.
