Prior experience leading a team of care assistants.
A QCF Level 3 Diploma or above in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
Sound knowledge of CQC key lines of enquiry and other regulatory frameworks.
Flexibility to work 42 hours per week, including weekend availability.
As Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for leading the care team to ensure that the care delivered to our residents is safe, supportive, and person-centred. You will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, assuming full operational capacity in their absence.
A typical day could include:
Conducting inductions for new team members, as well as providing ongoing supervision and support to existing staff.
Completing comprehensive care audits to ensure high standards of practice and trigger reviews as resident needs change, keeping care plans focused on dignity and individuality.
Ensuring general standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance are strictly upheld for resident safety and wellbeing.
Liaising closely with family members, care professionals, social workers, and residents to guarantee a holistic and transparent approach to care.
Monitoring, reporting, and investigating risks, safeguarding concerns, or incidents of harm, implementing robust processes to mitigate or avoid them.
Keeping all administrative records—such as daily care notes, medication charts, and meeting logs—fully up to date.
