This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly within our children's residential services, providing high-quality care and support to young people who have experienced significant challenges in their lives.

As a Sessional Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where children and young people can thrive, develop essential independence, and build brighter futures. Working on a flexible zero-hours basis, you will provide consistent, child-centred care, assisting with daily routines, emotional regulation, and educational engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Care: Support children and young people in their day-to-day lives, building positive, professional relationships based on trust and respect.

• Daily Routines: Assist with household tasks, personal routines, appointments, and encourage participation in education, hobbies, and community activities.

• Emotional Support: Help young people navigate emotional and behavioural challenges by remaining calm, resilient, and professional.

• Safeguarding & Records: Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes while completing accurate daily records and contributing to care planning.

• Flexible Cover: Work collaboratively across different residential settings as part of a dedicated team providing consistent care.

Key Requirements

• Personal Qualities: Compassionate, patient, resilient, calm under pressure, and deeply passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.

• Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong understanding of safeguarding.

• Experience: Previous experience within residential childcare, social care, education, youth work, or a related field is advantageous, though not strictly essential as training is provided.

• Compliance: Right to Work in the UK and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and rigorous safer recruitment screening.
