About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are partnering to recruit a talented and passionate Chef for Grace Care Centre. Located on the outskirts of the historic town of Thornbury, this 70-bed care home provides compassionate, personalised 24-hour specialist dementia and residential care in a comfortable, homely setting.
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen and catering services, managing a small team while ensuring top-tier standards of nutrition, hygiene, and safety. You will have the opportunity to build wonderful relationships with residents and their families to understand their personal preferences and deliver a truly exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen & Team Management: Lead, motivate, and inspire a small kitchen team while effectively managing budgets and stock control.
Menu & Nutritional Planning: Oversee menu development, catering for large numbers, and tailoring meals for specialist dietary requirements.
Resident Engagement: Connect directly with elderly residents to understand their personal tastes and dietary needs.
Quality & Safety: Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and nutritional excellence across all daily catering services.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Proven background working in a professional kitchen, cooking for large numbers, and planning menus for specialist diets.
Leadership Skills: Experience leading and motivating a team, with a confident, supportive attitude.
Qualifications: Ideally holding or working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership (or equivalent), though this is not essential.
Compassionate Approach: A genuine warmth and passion for working within an elderly care environment.
